Welcome to the 42-2 District Court – New Baltimore 

The 42-2 District Court, one of the largest in Macomb County by land area, serves Chesterfield Township, New Baltimore, Lenox Township, and New Haven. This division ensures justice and serves a diverse and growing population. 

Our Services 

Criminal Cases: 

  • Handling misdemeanors and preliminary examinations for felony cases. 
  • Managing drunk driving and traffic violations. 

Civil Cases: 

  • Civil litigation up to $25,000. 
  • Small claims up to $7,000. 
  • Landlord-tenant disputes. 

Traffic and Parking Violations: 

  • Overseeing traffic and parking violations and other civil infractions.

Court Details 

The majority of cases in the 42-2 District arise from Chesterfield Township, with significant incidents of larceny, retail fraud, domestic violence, and traffic violations. In 2017, 2,696 crime incidents were reported in Chesterfield Township, and 748 in New Baltimore. Additionally, 161 individuals suspected of driving under the influence were tested for alcohol or drugs.
