Welcome to the 38th District Court 

The 38th Judicial District Court (Eastpointe District Court) serves the city of Eastpointe, Michigan, providing a limited jurisdiction court dedicated to maintaining justice and serving the community. Our court is committed to delivering fair, timely, and impartial judicial services to all individuals who come before us. 

Our Services 

The 38th District Court has jurisdiction over the following matters: 

• Criminal Misdemeanors: Handling all criminal misdemeanor cases. 

• Civil Cases: Managing civil litigation where the amount in dispute is $25,000 or less. 

• Traffic and Parking Violations: Overseeing all traffic violations, parking violations, and other civil infractions. 

• Landlord-Tenant Disputes: Resolving disputes between landlords and tenants. 

• Small Claims: Handling small claims matters efficiently and fairly. 

• Criminal Felony Cases: Exercising initial jurisdiction on criminal felony cases to determine probable cause.

Judges 

The 38th District Court is served by one elected judge. District Judges are elected on non-partisan ballots for terms of six years, ensuring they serve the community with impartiality and dedication.
